Troll Bachmeier, 1997 - March 8th, 2009

Troll Bachmeier, 12, passed away Sunday morning, surrounded by his loving family. Troll was found in the summer of 1997 in the country, under a bridge, south of Bismarck, ND. He was thin, malnourished and had been left for dead by someone horrible. Wade and Edie found him, and nursed him back to health. He grew into one of the most beautiful dogs ever! Troll was part collie, and as everyone joked, part Coyote. ;-) He loved to ride in the pontoon with his human parents, Wade and Edie, and human sister, April, and countless other friends, human and canine. He loved to run on the sandbars, chasing birds and jetskis, never seeming to run out of energy, and running faster than any of his family had seen another dog run. He hated swimming but would conquer his fear and hatred and swim out to April and Edie if they were in the middle of a swimming hole and he wanted to see them. He'd hold his head as far out of the water as he could though, and get as little wet as possible. Troll was a very large dog, but had dainty paws, and was very graceful, proud and distinguished. He was never dirty, and if he was, it didn't last for long. He never left food lying around, or crumbs, and always had to clean every last bite from the floor or bowl, not out of hunger, but out of neatness. He was known to lick the drool off his canine sister Sadie's mouth at times. :) At night, Troll watched out for his human family and would go from room to room when April was home, keeping an eye on everyone. He loved to sleep on the bed, and his family loved it when he did, too. Troll was a friend to everyone he met, and had a sweetness about him that will never be equalled in any dog. He did his best to teach his newest canine sister, Molly, the ropes, but it is unsure if she absorbed any of that. ;-) Troll will be incredibly missed, but his owners know that he is watching over them, and they will see him again someday. He is somewhere chasing seagulls on a sandbar and has his very own chewie and tennis ball that Sadie can't take away from him. Troll, we love you and miss you very much. Love, Edie, Wade and April
